Come for the Boating Education….Stay for the Friends.

Welcome to America’s Boating Club at Thurmond Lake (aka Thurmond Lake Sail & Power Squadron), chartered in the year 2000, a unit in  District 26 of America’s Boating Club.   Our mission includes the promotion of boating safety, boating education, civic service and the enjoyment of boating activities and social functions among our membership.

Becoming a member of America’s Boating Club at Thurmond Lake is very easy. First you might want to attend a function to see what we are all about. Contact any member to be included in an event or to secure an application. There is an introductory boating class offered for the fee of the book. This class is easy, fun, and provides knowledge for safety on the water. Taking this class is optional to become a full member.

If you are interested in joining us please contact Tom or Linda Williford at email: atwjr1152@yahoo.com or any squadron member, and they will be glad to assist you.

We serve the Thurmond Lake area of South Carolina and Georgia.

Thurmond Lake is located in a rural area on the Savannah River. The closest towns are Abbeville and McCormick in South Carolina and Lincolnton in Georgia. The lake has an area of roughly 71,000 acres and 1200 miles of shoreline in Sumter National Forest. It abounds with good fishing, boating and wonderful people.
